Hallelujah
Jan. 19th, 2012 10:40 amSo the woman who has hounded and persecuted my husband for three years as his principal announced her retirement from the school yesterday. I find satisfaction in this because now the opposition is cleared for him to return to his school on the West side of Chicago where he'll be working with kids in the neighborhood he's taught in for twenty years once more.
Please note: At a school where he received "Excellent" as a rating as a teacher until the past two years, when the Daley/Rahm war on "expensive" (veteran) teachers began. At a school where he often paid for books and supplies for his students because the school couldn't afford it. At a school where his class was consistently the highest performers on achievement tests. At a school where he was caught in gun crossfires three times and had an armed man invade the school, yet he stayed.
Hallelujah.
