Jan. 1st, 2005 12:09 pmWell, New Years Eve was just ridiculously fun. I enjoyed the living hell out of myself here in Palm Springs at two, count them TWO fabulous bear parties. While the first one was fairly sedate I did get to know quite a few of the local bearfolk over a vast spread of incredible snacks including this indescribable Reuben dip that was beyond pleasing in it's Reuben-y goodness. Many margaritas were had, and when the clock struck twelve, I was buck nekkid in a hot tub enjoying one of the best New Years in my faulty memory.
In all seriousness, Palm Springs feels VERY comfortable to me; I like the area, the vibe of Cochella Valley itself and the bearfolk here seem very friendly, laid back, and unpretentious. I enjoyed the change of pace from a lot of the trauma queens I know in residence up Chicago way. For possibly the first time in my life, I didn't want a vacation to end after five days. Unfortunately, since I can't stay in Palm Springs based on gay political asylum, I'll be packing my things and heading out in a few hours to catch a flight from Vegas to Madison, Wisconsin before trekking back to Chicago on Sunday night.
The second party was very keen as well, and I got to sit in another perfect hot tub for a few more hours with Jim and two new Palm Springs friends of ours, Don & John. Everything was very laid back and casual, and despite the fact that Mike & Shane had headed home after the first party with our hosts, I had a great deal of fun. Plus, getting to sit in a hot tub nekkid with the SPECTACULARLY hot Don & John? Priceless.
I had better move on before I start talking about bearing their children. *grins*
Regardless; Palm Springs continues to get better each time I'm down here and I've found myself absent-mindedly discussing condo prices here with Mike... I'm not sure, but this certainly feels like a good place to call "home away from home" too.
Packing calls.
Oh, and much love to
bobaloo. I have decided I may be flying to L.A. for a weekend to see his happy ass. (And John's. And Don's. And Garett's. And Scott's...)
