Someone out there, suggest some mellow grooving music to me. I'm open to any genre & hungry for exposure to new things.

A few people on here have turned me on to Feist, who's sorta pop and sorta jazzy. She's not quite as Starbuck-yuppie as, say, Norah Jones...there's more edge to her, more trip-hop.

I also just downloaded a singer named Imogen Heap, who is also a bit trip-hoppy - along the continuum of Sarah Maclachlan, Kate Bush, Portishead.

For guys I would suggest Josh Rouse, he's a singer/songwriter but not too oh-woe-is-me. He has "1972", which has a few fun songs on it written in the vein of early 70's, Carole King style pop, and "Nashville" which is a really good, solid, mellow CD.

I love Imogen Heap, I got to play pool with her at her opening CD party in Chicago, I think it was at the Green Dolphin. She was so funny....

BTW Matt Try the Bear Quartet

Semisonic (known for their one-hit-wonder "Closing Time") has some pretty good laid back stuff, though my favorite by far is called "Gone to the Movies"

Death Cab For Cutie's "Passenger Seat" and "Title and Registration" are also pretty laid back.

My #1 is definitely Styrofoam's "Couches in Alleys."

Matt or someone, having puter problems. Homepage which is set on yahoo.com but going to a site called securitycaution.com and Norton anti virus/internet security will not install. Don't want to go to drastic measures and get a new hard drive or whatever. If someone is willing to email me at johnrachey@yahoo.com or even call me via my cell and talk me through stuff, I'll buy ya lunch/dinner.
