Maybe I Should Smoke More Dope...
Jan. 31st, 2006 10:30 amI need some way to start mitigating the stress in my life from relationships, school, work, and other avenues. Aside from general weightlifting, is there anything out there anyone can suggest? My headaches & exhaustion are becoming very hard to manage....

There's a localized nationwide publication called the Open Exchange that lists classes and workshops. Perhaps there's something similar to that where you live.
Yoga is more than just contorting one's body into wacky poses, although it certainly can be that, too. It's an entire way of relating to your body, one that helps relax, calm, soothe, strengthen, harmonize. I recommend it to bears because it is not about being perfect in the poses, but rather it's about recognizing where you are _in the moment_ in relationship to your body and doing what you can right then. Being in the moment is a remarkably empowering sensation, feels good, and has healing capabilities that science is only just now starting to realize.
