Weekending, 3/17 - 3/19
Mar. 20th, 2006 10:10 amLord, have mercy.
I am at work today despite having a bout of the stomach flu; it seemed like a good idea this morning, but it's rapidly becoming apparent that my diseased ass should be at home in a warm bed. I'll trudge through it, but I am going to be a bag of bones the minute I get home. Worse still, I was so ill yesterday I got zero quality time with
tropicstyle or
jiminwi36, both of whom in a fit of kindness did laundry for me & Mike as well as making us dinner.
I acheived NOTHING this weekend; I saw V for Vendetta Friday with some good friends at the late show and then woke up on Saturday to have a nice breakfast at the Red Apple with my partner Mike & our friend Jim. Sometime around noon I left for the game I play in monthly, "Time of Shadow", which lasted until 1:30 am on Sunday! I got home around 3 am and fell into slumber.
When I got up at 7 am (reflex, ugh), every bone in my body popped and I felt like I'd been run down by a truck. Every joint ached & I was freezing, with a nice coil of nausea unfolding in my gut. I tried to play it off as we went to Fry's Electronics and the game store, but by earlier afternoon, I was the walking dead.
Shane put me to bed & I slept fitfully until late in the evening, in enough time to wolf down the dinner Jim had whipped up... it was delicious, but it's getting its revenge today.
All things told, a not-so-great end to a not-so-great week. I'm hoping this week is gentler to me.
