Too Much

I always want too much.

Too many lovers in my bed, too many lives I've never lived, too many dreams, too many causes, too many helpings, too many times on the rollercoaster, too many slices of key lime pie, too many comics, too many players, too many times seeing my name in print, too many fights, too many nights of being brilliant & desperate, too many fucks, too many books, too many toys, too many sidelong looks, too many clever quips, too many Springs, too many Falls, too many worlds inside, too many college degrees 'cause of intellectual pride, too many downturned eyes asking me please, too many fistfights, too many rolls and bumps, too many bumps AND bruises, too many perfect Summer nights, too many lips, too many soft sighs, too many lost nights between solid thighs, too many first glances, too many last chances, too many One True Loves, too many men within grunting from above, too many gray days with impeccable beauty, too many nights of disquiet in dark places, too many scowls from haughty, pretty faces.

Want not, waste not.
