Returning from the Wilderness
Aug. 22nd, 2002 11:24 pmWell, its been a hella long time since I last posted in my journal, or really observed the entries in Livejournal as part of my daily routine. I've missed it greatly, but due to extreme life re-orientation (read: Life kicked me in the jimmy) I haven't had time to include my journal as part of my daily routine.
In a nutshell, my store, house, and a deep depression basically combined to have me withdraw for the past 2 months. As of today, I'm waiting on my partner's lawyers to approve the contract for the sale of my store, which has been a debacle from Day one. Part of my personal woes has been I'm only going to get $5,000 total in cash for my store, plus a healthy $17,000.00 tax write off. I'm simply dissapointed to be receiving this much after putting in well over 4 times that, but staying in my business right no is tantamount to financial suicide. Essentially, the Devil is charging behind me & the Deep Blue Sea lay ahead.
My house is a different story, one that has emphasized patience. In a few days (God willing) it will be ready to be rented. I'm hoping my bf John will help with the locks in time to have it completed by Monday. It's ALMOST done, and therein lies the most frustrating part. I can see the finish line within reach, but it's a hair's grasp away....
As for a job, well, I need one. Mike has been kind in keeping me solvent this long, but its time I moved forward on things. I have a good lead with Cargill doing work with Futures that ISN'T sales, but we'll see. I have my resume in at some placement agencies, and I'm hoping for a job that will allow me enough freedom to enroll in night school. Problem with the Cargill gig is that its 40% travel, so I don't know exactly WHEN I'll be at home during the week. Its quite frustrating.
On a more positive note, Soren came over today & made his character for the Trinity game I'm onto running, which also happens to be a game Blithwulf will be in. It's a bright spot in a sea of crap, and its looking very good. Now, I just have a SLEW of NPC's to cook up. It should be fun.
Well, I've kicked the dust off, and thats a good preamble to getting back into the swing of things for now. I just need to figgure how to post pics and create more secure friends lists & I can get to the real dirt. :-)
