Yesterday was odd in the sense that my routine was dirupted; I rolled out of bed and showered by 10:30 to greet my straight, gaming friend Karl with the intent of sitting down to work on a Trinity character for him.

Morning strongly disagreed with me.

For whatever reason, Karl and I hit the road to go see Games Plus, which is the gamers equivalent of Shangri-La. Not only does Games Plus have some 4000 odd square feet of gaming store and space, they carry everything.

I mean EVERYTHING.

Gamers will remember strings of crap RPG's that came & went over the past 20 years, and at GP, there is a great likelihood you can find it. While they're WILDLY successful at that shop, they have no desire to expand. It's strange, and quite nice.

As an aside, I became light headed on entering; I thought, "how ironic would it be for me to mysteriously drop dead at this store while selling my own". I'm sure the Urban Legends would fly forth.

Anyway, we bumped about and Karl was kind enough to float me the Buffy The Vampire Slayer RPG. After an hour of browsing, we hoofed it over to Old Country Buffet & pulled on the feedbags. during lunch, we began to bang out what would be one of the most epic characters I'll ever have the joy of running for.

To be honest, I was worried about Trinity. Most every player, save Soren, has turned in a rather generic character, either by trying to help fill the group or through sheer lack of ideas. I thought the game would have bland characters without any real agendas or depth. It's not really anyone's fault, but I was hoping for a bit more.

Karl really stepped up to the plate. He chose to make a unique, if not difficult to play character. He chose for his character to take on a burden that would yeild MANY subplots and perhaps overshadow his character. He did this all with a smile.

I hope I keep Karl in my games FOREVER.

We designed a truly unique piece of equipment for him, and he helped me realize the team of characters was REALLY a team of archetypes:

The Hunter: Soren's character, a clarisentient
The Infiltraitor: Karl's character, a biokinetic
The Hammer: God, I hope somebody steps up to this one.
The Maker: John's character, an electrokinetic
the Intruder: Mark's electrokinetic hacker.
The Interrogator: Tom's VERY scary telepath.

It does my heart good to see this game coming along so well. :-)

It has come to my attention, after a clash with another LJ'er regarding using my journal as gossip, that certain levels of security are needed.

Instead of running away from LiveJournal, which I dearly love, I have downloaded the Visions LJ client and I'm getting ready to make two more friends groups, one dealing with sex, the other with gory intimacy.

if you're inclined to be on either, please inform me.

Please note, both will be rather graphic, and not for the easily frightened.
