Where's Matthew?
Aug. 2nd, 2006 11:22 amHoo-Boy, I'm a busy lad these next two weeks. I'll be travelling quite a bit to UberGeek destinations. To whit
August 4th - 6th: Wizard World Comic Con-- Can you SMELL it? Oh wait, you will in the vendor's mart since certain comic geeks find soap to be slightly more mysterious than the opposite sex. Regardless, I'm looking to hang with friends, fill some holes (in my comic collection, you reprobates) and be introduced to the newest & shiniest the four-color world has to offer. I'm also jonesing on the possibility of getting into the Kevin Smith Q & A, which my dear
tropicstyle will try & score tickets for on Friday morning while I work. I'll be spending the weekend with such lj luminaries as
tropicstyle,
dedos,
grunterand
qualitykill. We'll be staying over night in the Sofitel on Saturday to party as much as the comic code will allow.
Any bears planning on hitting Wizard World? Want to co-ordinate?
August 10th - 13th: GEN CON Indy-- If I were to have anything close to a religious pilgrimage, it would be this. I'm going with
tropicstyle,
gryphonbear and
bigbadwoof to the shindig as well; it will be Shane & Ben's first and Josh's second. By now I'm an old hand at Gen Con. Above all other events, runs, vacations, this one quickens me the most. I'm hoping to get next Friday off so I can drive down then, and since my great & beneficient boss occasionally reads this I'm hoping he takes pity on me. :-) I'm excited for many of the new releases, especially White Wolf's new Promethean the Created and to FINALLY be able to game at Gen Con after seven years... I'm looking so very forward to that.
All in all, the next two weeks will be full, but hopefully very enjoyable. It's odd to say, but even as exanimate & sick as I've been I feel that good things are winging there way towards me as we speak. My main goal now is to remain open to the positive changes and new relationships I feel may be knocking on my door soon. It's odd to say, but I've got a calm, enduring feeling over me for no real reason and the hankering suspicion Santa will com early this year. We'll see what shakes loose.
