There's been some news, some large some small.
Cindy, my small Cat of Ancient Days, is still bumping around, but we found out last week that she has an extremely rare form of cancer for cats in her hind section that is very malignant & spreading. The doctor estimated she'd have several weeks to two months before she reached a state where I'd need to put her to sleep. I felt bad for the vet because his specialty is pet cytology and he was a bit excited to see this rare form of cancer, but by no means obnoxiously so. As soon as he realized he was a bit too enthused he became very supportive, and seemed surprised that I wasn't a wreck. The truth is, once you get used to people telling you someone is going to die you get to make a strange peace with it. I did it with my parents and I've had that same grace with my little cat. The bonus is that she's feeling no pain and is wonderfully spry. I'm pampering her until she's ready to leave us.
In far better news, I am doing well in my Accounting and Speech courses. I was surprised by doing well in accounting, as I loathe the instructor's style of teaching. Personally, I think she's a wonderful soul, but a terrible communicator. That aside, I've prospered in the class.
We have had two wonderful folks come into our lives... I'll discuss that more when the time is ripe.
I'm looking to pare down the Vault of Tomorrow into a more refined version. For those of you who don't know, the Vault is the storage unit where I keep my game, comic and toy collections, along with keepsakes and personal items. It allso contains the remains of my former game store. I'm going to be putting the less than mint items up for sale on eBay to "refine" my collection as it were. Mostly, I'm just hoping to make more room for the good stuff.
Other than that, there's not been much terribly much to report, just the endless drone of work/school/work/school that we all fall into sometimes. This week I broke that cycle a bit and blew off both my classes to rest up; a wise choice I think as I'm feeling 100% better than I have in a long while. It's amazing what a 10.5 hour sleep will do, no?
