Look, how can you be a vertebrate with a central nervous system and NOT know Clay Aiken was gay?

400,000 million miles away from here, across vast drifts of space and nebulas as large as our solar system, there is a civilization of blind and deaf space dogs.

Even they know he's gay.

Smurfs know Clay Aiken is in fact gay and they're fictional. The Snorks know, too.

In fact, Gobo from Fraggle Rock was the first attempt at a Muppet civilization to process JUST HOW GAY CLAY AIKEN REALLY IS!

That being said, he still deserves respect for publicly highlighting that we knew he was gay.

I don't think he deserves that respect, because the whole thing is rather disingenuous at best. His last record came and went without a trace, and the same couldn't be said for his stint on Broadway in Spam-A-Lot. Him having a baby, while noble for himself, didn't exactly get him all the publicity bonus that he likely could have used.

And now, he comes out, with all the fanfare of crickets chirping, and says with a linear face to the press, "I cannot raise a child to lie or to hide things." What he meant to say was, "I cannot raise a child to lie or to hide things, unless of course it stops being to my personal benefit after all these eons."

He's gay, and Stevie Wonder could've seen it coming. But after all the denials and the scandals, and the personal-ad drama of a couple of years ago, now it's OK to come out? *shrug* Because it's on his terms? I'm cynical enough to believe there are PR forces at work beyond my comprehension here.

My frosted side says, "no way man", but my cynical, Republican-battered wheat side says, "duh." No better way to revive a flagging demographic base than by adding the most ardent consumer base possible;

Teh gayz.

We put Cher on the Moon and we'll get Clay Aiken back as a star in the night sky by 2011 or bust!

There's still a little room for uncertainty. I've never fucked him. Not that I would (SO not my type!) but just saying.

I'm not all that sure that anyone on our blog host's flist, nor anyone on any of their flists, would fuck him, either.

Do you think the light went on for most people when his baby's momma was artificially inseminated???

That he travels with male companions and checks into out of way places under assumed names??

HELLO WORLD!!!!!!

And does this mean that "Dick" Clark's Rocking Eve will be a "Gay Old Time" Rocking Eve???
