Is it truly petty not to accept the friend request of someone on Facebook if they de-listed you on LJ?

There's a person who's probably just adding as many bears as he can on Facebook to support his comedy show. I don't mind being marketed to, just not on a social network site itinerantly there to keep track of friends. He used to be on my LJ friends list, but came & went. Sooo... if we don't really talk & I don't really know him, then why bother accepting his request on Facebook so I can be spammed by fan requests & show notices?

Buy a banner ad on Bear411, dude.

I thought I'd ask, just to see what others might think. I'm still going to ignore his request anyway, mainly because of the ulterior motive. :-)

Speaking of, I had someone ad me, [livejournal.com profile] fajchchas, and the journal just looks like an add for a pyramid work-from-home scheme. Where's that fun feature that let's you report a journal?

I'm sorta in the same boat - if this person is who I believe it is, he and I have had an acquaintanceship online and IRL for over 16 years, so I went on and accepted the request on FB.

Then again, since FB seems to be nothing but inane quizzes and idiotic "virtual cocktail" and "Lick My Lollipop!" crap, I'm close to walking away from it anyway, rendering the whole thing moot.

Oh I think I know who. Yeah, trust me it's pure annoyance.

You could always accept him, and then de-friend him later, couldn't you?

Hover your cursor over the LJ bust next to their name; you'll see the mini-menu appear. Click on "report a bot".

And don't feel guilty about not accepting the FB invite. It's only teh intarwebz.

Signed up for FB a couple of years ago and all I got were invites to friend females and their friends........What part of BDSM Gay Male is so totally not understandable?????

I finally shut it down. LJ is enough for me.

Nah, these were offers to see females in various states of undress.
The 15 year olds were bad enough...........I never touch anything under 35 years old.

That's why I don't do Facebook.
I wouldn't add him, personally.

I suspect I have this individual friended myself, but I can say that I'm fairly immune to the stupid "Can you blow bubbles with your spit?" applications...

If you ignore a request on FB, they don't get a message and while they'll eventually figure it out, you can always go "I never saw it" or just let it sit there. *shrug* But don't dwell on what you SHOULD do. Doesn't really help you feel better regardless. Just make the decision and then find out what the next stupid Facebook application shows up. :P

There's someone on Facebook who doesn't use it for anything besides spamming for his restaurant. SOME promotion is okay - you have to make a living, after all - but there is a limit.
