Fizzle Out
Aug. 12th, 2009 08:07 amSo, without any ceremony or bluster, I decided to drop Soda Pop from my diet for a month as a trial. I'm still going to allow myself to induldge in coffee, tea and the occasional spirits, but otherwise soda will be history for me. I don't know if I'm not making a fuss about this with people I know in order to keep dietary changes to a minimum or if I'm doing it in order to not look so bad if I fall flat on my face and end up downing a case of Pepsi Throwback in a spastic caffienated orgy.
This does create a dilemma for game nights though. What will I replace my normal beverage with for gaming? Tea? It seems too hippy-ish and I doubt my gaming buddies will forgive me if I have a Jack on the rocks at hand when adjucating rules...
"you NeeD nEEd *hiccup* need to roll a 10... of fuck it youse all unicorns!!"
I don't think that's going to fly too well.
Now, to just start paring down my Starbucks Caramel Macchiato addiction as well...

how about
Date: 2009-08-12 05:10 pm (UTC)WATER!!!
it helps your kidneys function better, it helps you liver function better, it helps everything function better, it usually free everywhere in the us (at least most restuarants, unless you get something sparkling or mineral)

Date: 2009-08-12 09:25 pm (UTC)I recently (coming up on a year or so now) switched from what my mother called fat pop (with corn sweeteners) to diet, and limit myself (typically 24-32 fl oz max per meal) before switching to water if I'm still thirsty. And with no other diet or exercise changes — I still get my walking-as-exercise in — I'm managing to shed some excess weight.
